Unpaid Wages (Overtime, Commissions & Tips)

Regardless of whether an employee receives their wages through a salary, hourly rate, draw, production/piece rate, or commissions the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires, in certain cases, that covered employers pay overtime wages every hour worked over forty (40) hours per work week.

We will work with you to determine if your employer owes you money for unpaid wages and fight to get you the compensation you deserve.

Retaliation / Whistleblowing

Employers often retaliate against employees who report harassment, discrimination, illegal activity, or financial wrongdoing. Unlawful retaliation can involve activity short of termination, such as harassment or oppression in the work place. Retaliation for protected activity is illegal and is a separate claim in addition to the underlying discrimination.

Wrongful Termination / Discrimination

In most circumstances, an employer can lawfully terminate an employee at any time for any reason. However, it is illegal for an employer to demote or terminate an employee based on certain characteristics. This may be an act of discrimination.

Discrimination and wrongful termination may come in many forms, it may be based on:

  • Race

  • Color

  • National Origin

  • Gender

  • Denial of Leave

  • Age

  • Pregnancy

  • Failure To Hire

  • Religion

  • Unequal Pay

  • Disability

  • FMLA Violations

Workplace / Sexual Harassment

There are number of reasons harassment in the workplace takes place, making for a hostile work environment. It can be based on race, age, religion, disability, or marital status. Some employees even experience sexual harassment.

If you feel that you have been the victim of workplace sexual harassment, we will examine the details of your situation and let you know where you stand legally.
